 AssessorOConnor
Office of Donald O'Connor
Alpine County Assessor / Recorder

Welcome to the Alpine County Assessor / Recorder's main web page

Notice:

Due to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus), the Alpine County Administration building is closed with employees continuing to serve the public remotely during normal business hours. Address and contact information is available below or on this pageAll communication with our office needs to be done via phone, email or by US Mail / overnight courier, email is the best way to reach a particular person.  In addition to US Mail, a drop box is available outside the Administration building to deposit documents or overnight courier parcels.  We will continue to process recordings and documents that we receive through the US Mail or the drop box.

If you have a document that you would like to submit for recording, please email Jeanette Millar a copy of all the pages in the document, including the PCOR, prior to sending the hard copy.  She will review the document and make sure its recordable and will also provide you with the exact recording fee.  This will save everyone time and minimize rejected documents.  If using an overnight delivery service for your document, please email Jeanette once you have received delivery confirmation.  Overnight deliveries may not be processed the same day as delivered.

Thank you for your understanding during this challenging time.

This closure is indefinite, we will post a notice when the closure is lifted.

The Assessor’s Office is responsible for administering the county property tax assessment program. Revenues from property tax assessments benefit the public by funding public schools and services provided by the County, and special districts.

Property taxation in California has become complicated and difficult to understand. I hope you find the information in this site helpful by answering your questions about property taxation and recorded documents.

If you have questions, need clarification, or simply want more information, call, e-mail us or drop by and visit with myself or my helpful staff.

Thank you very much for electing me and providing me the opportunity to serve as your Assessor/Recorder.  I am committed to maintaining fair and impartial assessments while providing outstanding public service.

Sincerely,

Donald O'Connor
Alpine County Assessor/Recorder
