The Communicable and Infectious Diseases Program monitors reportable communicable and infectious diseases and investigates and follows cases as necessary. Communicable diseases include, but are not limited to:
Certain testing, such as the PPD skin test for tuberculosis, is available.
HIV / AIDS / STD Program
The Alpine County HIV/AIDS/STD Program provides the following services:
- HIV / AIDS Testing; It's free and the results are confidential.
- STD Testing; Free tests for some sexually transmitted diseases, such as chlamydia and gonorrhea, can be done at the Alpine County health Department. Results are available in about 4 to 5 working days. Please call 530-694-2146 for an appointment. Information about other STDs available on the CDC website.
