There are five active NFPA Firewise Communities in Alpine County. All of these communities are active and have maps / certificates of recognition. To learn more about these communities, click on the links below.
- Kirkwood Firewise (recognized 2022, in good standing)- Kirkwood Firewise has their own website and sponsors neighborhood meetings and community clean up days.
- Bear Valley Firewise (recognized 2025, in good standing)
- Woodfords Firewise (recognized 2026, in good standing)- Congratulations to Woodfords on their recent recognition as a FIrewise community! Woodfords was the 1500th Firewise community to be recognized across the nation.
- Marklee Village /Carson Ridge (recognized 2023, in good standing)
- Mesa Vista (recognized 2023, in good standing)
